When we saw horses that we liked, we looked carefully at their pedigrees and that helped us determine what bloodlines we wanted in our foundation broodmares. The influence of non-Nazeer bloodlines came through in many of these pedigrees. The way we evaluated this was to look back 4 generations in the pedigree where there are 16 horses listed. More often than not, horses with the type, conformation and movement that we like have a pedigree with more than 50% of the horses in this generation being non-Nazeer.  Not every horse with 50% or more horses in this generation non-Nazeer, will have the type, conformation and movement we are looking for. That’s where the right combination of bloodlines comes into play.  That vision of what we wanted in a horse and what we would look for in a pedigree led us on our search for our foundation mares.
